Definitely worth the $20.00; beautiful effects.

I have been looking for an application to create some special effects for my photos for a while. This one looked promising, but I was not terribly impressed with the filter selection. A lot of the filters can be easily reproduced in iPhoto or Aperture with simple color adjustments, and minor changes to saturation. There were only one or two of the filters that I thought were really unique. The user interface is quite nice and clean. However, I am not sure I am going to use this too often.

-Less expensive-More Glorious. You can create diverse looks by combining several other filter programs together. Or comparatively after perusing many similar photo program efx, this program enables you to produce some brilliant image combinations. Its easy and fast and you can layer effects for multiple variations that are unique and at a fair non-gauging price. No crashes or instability. I have an older Macbook and renders fabulously. Another program with similar name is double and if this is still on sale scoop it. Im lazy I dont write reviews without merit.

Its alight… but no crop, no categories for the piles of filters, some filters have the same same (two sepias, very different from one another) and the borders are horrible. Also I would like to be able to preserve the date on the photo through the edits so my photos would be in order in iPhoto. Some nice filters if thats all you want and youre willing to wade through many to find them.

I enjoy some excellent photography apps for my iphone (Camera +, for example) and I wanted the same photo processing exerience on my mac. I tried Photo Effect Studio Pro because it was a so-called PRO app for 75% off. What a disappointment. It does have some pro features such a varied file fomats but it is a lousy app with a limited number of photo FX. Worse, the FX it does have are often dark, visually unsophisticated, and just plain unattractive compared to what I can do with my iphone apps. And there are many cheesy wallpaper texures too that add little. Litte to admire with Photo Effect Studio Pro. Keep looking.

Paid $10 and all it does is pretty much mask your picture with different effects which a free app on cell-phone does. Definately not worth $10. Dont bother buying it. POOR APP.

I bought Great Photo Pro for $10 and thought it might have all the effects of this app, it doesnt. I was hoping that some of my winter scenes would pop like they show in the advertisement, but they do not. It does contain a lot more filters, some of them do a better job them some competitors, for $10 suppose it could be worth it. Id like to see more effects added. There are other better apps in the $20 range, that do more then this app does.

This app has the worst effects Ive seen. If you are familiar with the real film photography effects that this app tries to emulate, you would use maybe 3 out of all the effects it offers. Not even worth the money at 80% off. For the rest of you who are just looking to mangle your photos, you would find maybe half the effects -sometimes- useable. Almost all the frames are cheesy at best, and way too low-res if you are apllying them to your original full-res photos. Vignettes are no different. Avoid by all means.

I try to open my rw2 file, but it couldnt express color. It looks like mono photograpy. Before purchase, I tried to find a information for supporting rw2... but theres no information about that. Thats why I have to buy first and try that. But... It doesnt work for my rw2 files. Id like to refund it...

This app sometimes work… sometime doesnt ! They cut you off... of some filters when you get the new version. If you want them back… you will have to pay. They improved the user-friendliness in the new version but… they cut you off half of the original features !

Its got my favorite filters, but the app is not running smoothly on OSX Lion… You need to force quit to close down any work session! Please look into this.

Very easy to manage. Clean and fast filtering. Great looking UI design. You can really get creative with your pics in a simple and profassional way for a great price. I totally recommend it!

not worth the 20 dollars maybe 10 bt not 20. yes it has some cool effects bt thats it. you cannot even crop a picture here.

I bought this because I have several photo effects apps on my iPad2 and wanted something similar on my desktop that was quicker than PhotoShop CS5. While this has some decent effects, it also has alot of bulk that is not useful at all and is simply there to make the app seem to do more than it does. The first major flaw I found was that there is NO CROPPING TOOL! Most people crop their photos and this $20 app cant even do that. I prefer my $2 iPad apps over this.

This app will run for me at first, but crashes (the whole app quits) on attempting to open any file. Anyone else having this problem, and found any workaround? I have sent the developer two crash data reports over the past week-and-a-half but have heard nothing. Their website (linked above for support) doesnt even mention this app. I paid for this based upon the good reviews on this page. If we could demo these apps, I wouldnt have bought it (until it worked).

In principle it looks like it has many effects and tweeks you can do to a picture, but the reality is that, even thou there are many things you can apply, they dont allow much customization. Also the frames are very bad. many of them i would probably would never use as they look cheesee and imposed on the image. I was looking for an app that would compliment Photoshop and Lightroom but sorry to say, didnt find it here. To few usable effects/viginettes/frames.......

On seeing some negative comments i was quite skeptical but decided to spend the $20. I was pleased with this. Though i would definitely agree that there are some filters that makes no sense and wouldnt be used anyway - there are some that simply blew my mind off. I would still say this would be a fantastic app if it were a $10 less, neverthless it gave me what i wanted - some variation from my usual. The usage of filters depends on your mood and style of shots. I was able to use close to 12 filters and they did some subtle magic to my pics. On the borders i wouldnt use more than a 3 though those 3 again made a big difference. Add to it, you can adjust your colors, contrast and other stuff which just helps... if not more. Refund/Reduce the $10, remove the unnecessary filters that are least used (or atleast replace it with something good like Camera Bag or Hipstamatic style) - youve got some very good editing software. Worthy of having one if you click a Lot of pics. Try it !

I was getting quite fond of this app until I tried to open a .png file and the app hung up and then crashed. Now when I try to open it the thing flashes briefly on screen and then crashes. I trashed and then re-installed and the same problem persists….There is no apparent support for this App. Clicking on the "support" link takes you to the company website which has no mention of this product. As it is, it is useless...
